If you’ve always wanted to see what it’s like to be a pirate sailing the open seas, then you’ve probably come across Sea of Thieves at some point. If you haven’t, this action-adventure game lets you join together with friends for pirate adventures. It has been out for quite a while now, and even still, it receives regular updates.

It’s about to happen again. This time, the update is called The Seabound Soul, which comes out later in the month. The update is including a lot of goodies, including a new Tall Tale and cannon balls. The extra tale should give players more adventures to go on, whether they’re taking a solo or group party approach.

That’s something the developers at Rare have nailed down with this ship-oriented game. There are always new events to get wrapped up in. One minute, you could be heading to a mysterious island with dangerous threats. An hour later, and you could be waging war against a notorious clan. Rare always keeps you guessing.

As far as the new cannon balls, they should keep the ship combat mechanics fresh. Who knows how much damage they’ll be able to do? You can bet that players will be anxiously waiting to try them out in battle.

One of the more noteworthy updates that already is live in Sea of Thieves — though — is a new set of ship cosmetics. They’ll called the Omen Set. Sounds pretty dark and ominous, doesn’t it?

Interestingly enough, the Omen Set is inspired by the Gears of War franchise. This is clearly evident in the sales, which feature the Gears of War logo in black and red colors. It’s a pretty fitting logo considering skulls are often incorporated in pirate lore. Best of all, these new cosmetics will be completely free.

All you have to do to claim them is play Sea of Thieves before November 22. After that point, they will no longer be available. Thus, if you haven’t played Sea of Thieves in a while or are picking it up for the first time, you better act fast. They’ll give your ship an interesting visual appeal and they’re a must if you’ve been a GOW fan ever since the beginning.

It’s always fun to see two major game entities come together like this recent collaboration. Both benefit in a way when you really think about it. And who doesn’t love free stuff?
