The release date of Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals has been pushed back to 2023. The company cited concerns about the game’s quality and further localization plans. We have yet to set a precise date or a window for the release of the Oxenfree sequel, although we now understand that it will be available to us at the earliest January 2023. An exact date has not been disclosed, nor do we have a release window.

The release of Oxenfree 2 has been pushed back so that the game can be improved upon and made available in additional territories once the delay has been implemented. Unfortunately, the announcement only goes into a little more information than that. Still, it comes just after it was reported that the first Oxenfree would be available on Netflix and that it would be playable on any platform that allows you to sign in to the streaming platform.

According to a brief statement distributed by Night School Studio, the company that developed Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, “we owe it to our fantastic community to make the game the best it can be.” Our drive to make this the best game we’ve ever made is fueled by seeing your fan art, reading your enthusiastic remarks, and engaging with you. Thank you.

We are delaying the release of Oxenfree 2 until 2023 so that we may make it as memorable as possible and incorporate additional translations. Again, I am grateful to you for your tolerance, support, and comprehension.

Before this delay, Oxenfree 2 did not have a definite release date, although it was anticipated that it would be available to players sometime in 2018.

It appeared at first as though Oxenfree might be released in the fall of this year, particularly considering that our editor-in-chief, Stacey Henley, was allowed to try it out in the summer and that she enjoyed her time spent with it.
