Ubisoft has recently gone ahead and created yet another Division 2 PAYDAY collaboration in which viewers can earn exclusive cosmetics just for watching Twitch streams. Uh…not very smooth for those few who are getting the gear falling into bumps along the way. Classic gaming drop mayhem!
In short: watch The Division 2 streams with Drops enabled, and you should get the PAYDAY bronze skull mask, gold skull backpack trophy, and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. Simple concept, but we see players pouring into the replies telling about their crashing into all the missing items, delays in being granted, or bugs in the way. Why is everything like that anyways?
First, Some Got Nothing At All: Cas8spyder reported having been active on watching streams for over 7 hours, but there’s nothing in their inventory from all that watching time. A second player, battle_saitama, said they got the bronze mask but not the gold backpack trophy after watching the full time required for the reward. Hypeodrmage then said they got everything just fine except for the PAYDAY gloves. Come on, Ubisoft—we just wanna look cool.
Then, Of Course, There’s the Exotic Cache: A bunch of players apparently keep receiving duplicate gold skull backpack trophies instead of whatever the exotic cache is really supposed to be. Josh Taylor (taintedcaviar) outright stated, “Hoping 2nd gold skull is an error, def want that exotic cache.” Same, dude. Same.
You know the stream already about that one bug, right? Parnelly__ admitted to having their stream muted for three hours before discovering her progress wasn’t tracked. Rookie move but really…how can muting a stream even break drops? Shameful.
Not every reply was about “dark matter” being missing yet some were already looking ahead, with Varshyll begging Ubisoft to get a belt + backpack for Gunner in Division 3, and then there’s JMAD1987 throwing around some views on Ubisoft monetization, calling them “scum bags” for charging £7.99 for PAYDAY skins. Pretty harsh to say but half right.
Another sore spot was loading times, chimed in randomdivplayer. Apparently, since the Brooklyn update, the game has basically been a load screen. Let’s have that fixed, eh?
And messy as it has been, a nice oddball certainly: PAYDAY crossover comes with some serious heist vibes for The Division 2, and the cosmetics are really something else. That bronze skull mask? Chef’s kiss. But really, Ubisoft, fix these drop issues before the players run out of patience.
And for those about to take on the Twitch drops grind, get your accounts linked, don’t mute your stream, and maybe… just maybe… keep your fingers crossed that the rewards really do show up. Good luck, agents, you’re gonna need it.
