There have been a lot of quirky games to come out this year, but one that really stands out is Untitled Goose Game. As if the title doesn’t do the game justice, the gameplay will. You essentially go around wreaking havoc as a goose. No, you’re not dreaming. This is an actual game you can play today.

It has been out since September on the Nintendo Switch and PC. Now, the game is finally coming to the PS4. This announcement was made at the most recent PlayStation State of Play. Thus, if you own a PS4, that’s great news for one of the weirdest, yet oddly satisfying titles to come out in some time. In addition to this PS4 confirmation, we now have a release date. That’s December 17, which is right around the corner.

If you’ve seen any trailer of Untitled Goose Game, you know how weird and addicting the gameplay is. Seeing the trailers doesn’t do this game justice, though. You have to experience it firsthand as a goose hellbent on causing as much destruction and problems for people as possible.

The developers at House House really hit it out of the park with the game’s simple graphics and fun gameplay. The visuals almost have a cartoonish vibe, like those from your favorite Saturday morning program. Only this goose isn’t about keeping the peace. Your only goal is to cause mayhem at every turn.

For example, there could be a gardener minding his business and it’s up to you to take away his tools and flee before he catches you. There are so many different encounters like this that keep the gameplay fresh. There are always challenges to overcome and plenty of critical-thinking to do.

You won’t be able to approach people head-on, though. If you do, they’ll stop you in your tracks. Rather, you’ll have to plan out a strategy to distract them from what they’re doing. It’s pretty fun going around causing mischief as a goose. It’s a concept that certainly hasn’t been broached by a developer up until this point.

Seeing Untitled Goose Game come to the PS4 is great to see. It shows House House is looking to reach as many gamers as possible. Everyone should check out this game at some point. It truly is one of those rare games that comes along once in a few years. The concept is simple, but somehow it all works brilliantly.
