With the 6.0 Onslaught expansion, Star Wars the Old Republic introduced a new equipment slot into player inventory; the Tactical. Tacticals are items that boost player abilities by a certain percentage and modify and boost abilities based on what Tactical is equipped.
Tacticals come in multiple flavors; general tacticals, which all classes can utilize, general class-specific tacticals, which only specific classes can use, and Discipline-specific tacticals, which can be used by any of the classes, but are best suited for a specific discipline.
Players are guaranteed to get the Krall’s Accord tactical simply by completing the Onslaught story. Krall’s Accord cycles between buffing Mastery, Accuracy, Power, Defense, Critical, Absorb, Alacrity, and Shield. In that order. This gives players a taste of what’s to come in terms of what these tacticals can do.
The rest of the tacticals are gained through different means. The “A Breath of Fresh Air” tactical has every third activation of the basic attack restores 10% of the class resource, which is different for each class, but is functionally the same. Players can get this tactical from the Onderon Reputation Vendor.
The Biorhythm tactical has dealt damage increase all healing done, a well as the inverse, all healing increasing all damage done. This stacks up to 5 times, though only one effect can be active at a time. Players can get this tactical by purchasing it from the Onderon Reputation Vendor. Keep in mind that neither of these tacticals can be purchased from the Tech Fragment Vendor.
The Durasteel Wall tactical has successful parries, deflections, or dodged attacks while under 80% health increases damage reduction by 1% for 5 seconds, and this stacks up to 3 times. And The Durasteel Wall is a random drop, coming from daily and weekly mission reward crates.
The Luck Always Changes tactical increases critical chance with Melee, Ranged, Tech, and Force attacks by 1% each second, though this effect resets on a successful critical hit. This tactical is also a random drop, but this time from Corellia Flashpoint bosses, and once again, is not available from the Tech Fragment Vendor.
The Overwhelming Offense Tactical has dealt damage increase all damage done for 2 seconds, and this effect stacks up to 5 times. This tactical is also a random drop, coming from daily and weekly mission reward crates.
The Reliquary of Time tactical reduces the cooldown on used Relics by 5% and is also a daily and weekly reward crate random drop.
The Rolling Boil tactical increases Mastery by 5% for 5 seconds when a Relic triggers, and is another daily and weekly reward crate random drop.
The Life Warden tactical has taken damage below 20% health will rapidly heal the player for a large amount, but this tactical has a 10-minute cooldown. This tactical is a Conquest Equipment crate random drop, which is gained by completing Conquest objectives.
There are more tacticals for each class, of course. Most are random drops, but some are crafted. Players will enjoy finding the perfect tactical for their playstyle.
