Emotes for American Sign Language has been added to the development. This is an effort to reach out to more of the deaf and hard of hearing gamers who would like to enjoy the game.

The developers of Star Citizen are collaborating with a community member in creating a series of emotes that denote the American Sign Language. This will help the deaf as well as the partially deaf or hard of hearing avid gamers.

The announcement was made by Steve Bender who disclosed that some of the community members are known to be hard of hearing. Some are even deaf. They continue to play the game, but they certainly do not get the same level of interaction with the game compared to those who are well in hearing.

The addition is a good way for the community members to participate and express themselves accordingly. It sets Star Citizen apart from other game developments. The ASL emotes never been used in the industry the same way before.

Cloud Imperium has upped the game with its developers continuously advancing the improvement of accessibility for their games. This makes the expenses of development worth it. The long wait for the game’s release more exciting.

The development of Star Citizen was started since 2011. In 2012, it began to raise funds through subscriptions, pledges, as well as other revenue streams.

The raised funds for its development have reached more than $200 million. The cost of development has stretched to almost the same figure. It is even considered as one of the most costly games under development.

The good news is that the Squadron 42, its singleplayer game, will soon be released for beta testing. It is initially set on the last quarter of 2020, something that fans waiting for its release can look forward to.

With regards to the full release of Star Citizen, the gaming industry will have to wait. The release date is yet to be determined as development is still on process.
