Guillemot added there’s an intense pressure for the company to come up with something new about Splinter Cell because there’s too much demand from fans.
The CEO stated there’s a need for them to ensure that what they’ll do next is different and significant from what they did before.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands had a very powerful Splinter Cell teaser because Michael Ironside, the voice actor for Sam Fisher has made an appearance. Another Easter Egg related to Splinter Cell has been spotted in Far Cry: New Dawn.
What fueled the rumors further is the report that Ubisoft has tapped the game’s original designer. Clint Hocking will work on unreported projects for Ubisoft and fans took it as a strong guest on what’s brewing on the game.
Guillemot has been asked if Ubi will release a new version of Splinter Cell in future consoles, which might come very soon. However, Guillemot is trying to evade such conversations.
Ryan McCaffrey, a host at IGN, has asked the CEO about the longevity of dormancy of the game, and the CEO answered they need to ensure they’ll make something better.
McCaffrey has praised the story of Blacklist as different and better than its predecessors. He said it’s believable and well balanced.
If Ubi announces something related to Splinter Cell, it might happen during E3 2019, when the company does its June briefing. Nothing has been confirmed at this moment and all fans can do is speculate.
