Publisher Focus Home Interactive has recently announced the release date for their upcoming title SnowRunner. The game is a sequel to Saber Interactive’s Spintires: Mudrunner (now known as Mudrunner), which was previously released in October 2017.
Along with the announcement was a new “Release Day Reveal” trailer. The trailer gives players a glimpse of some of the snowy conditions they’ll be working in, including dangerous terrain and steep cliffs.
The official website states, “SnowRunner puts you behind the wheel of a huge roster of customizable heavy-duty vehicles from manufacturers like Pacific, Navistar and more in some of the world’s most untamed, unforgiving environments. There are more than 15 new sandbox maps to explore, some up to four times larger than those in the original MudRunner. Master extreme hazards like snowdrifts, ice, rivers and mud — each with their own unique challenges — to get your cargo safely to its destination as quickly as possible.”
SnowRunner is a simulation game where players have t accomplish various tasks, such as hauling equipment or other important goods. Gamers will have to choose the right vehicles for the job, but luckily there are over 40 brands to choose from. Those familiar with big brands will recognize Cat, Pacific, Chevrolet, and more. As players earn more money by completing jobs, they can increase the size of their fleet to bring in even more profits.
SnowRunner will feature four-player co-op, so players can team up with others to complete various missions. All co-op is done at the same time, so gamers can plan ahead to get the job done. Gamers can also choose to take on the challenging gameplay alone.
SnowRunner was previously teased as “MudRunner 2,” but from the trailer, gamers can easily tell that they’ll be working in completely different conditions than muddy forests SnowRunner will enhance the off-road experience, with improved graphics, advanced simulation physics, bigger maps, and more vehicles to choose from all on the new snowy terrain.
Focus Home Interactive also announced that the game would be an Epic Game Store exclusive upon launch. Players who don’t use the digital storefront will have to wait one year before the game appears on other platforms like Steam or GoG.
SnowRunner launches as an Epic Game Store exclusive on PC and also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 28.
