Razer has yet again expanded its gaming monitor range with the new Razer Raptor 27, which was announced in January during CES 2019. This monitor has been designed for the best gaming performance courtesy of a fast refresh rate, adaptive sync, and impressive response time.
According to the company, the Raptor is the perfect blend of speed and clarity, and have dubbed it the ‘Pixel Perfect’ gaming monitor.
”A gaming monitor requires extreme performance with speed and clarity, so you can react in a split-second. It also needs to be able to display deep vibrant colors and a natural life-like image to create a sense of immersion,” said Razer. ”The Razer Raptor was created to be a true expression of this, and more—a no-compromise display that produces breathtaking image quality for your battlestation.”
Among the best features of the Raptor is the brilliant color reproduction. The display can show a whole spectrum of colors and doesn’t compromise on rendering the rich blacks. It is based on an IPS that supports HDR400 with an impressive DCI-P3 color gamut. The Raptor 27 features a WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution for pure 1440p gaming.
To make sure pro gamers remain on the competitive edge, the Raptor is designed with an incredible 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. Together with the adaptive sync (AMD Freesync or NVIDIA G-sync), you can be guaranteed smooth gameplay without any screen tearing, or flickering. On the other hand, the Ultra Low Motion Blur technology enhances the sharpness of the frames producing vivid images and lifelike fluid gameplay.
When it comes to the design, the Raptor sports sleek, slim 2.3mm bezels. Unfortunately, the footprint is quite large, so if your gaming desk is not spacious, you might have to think twice. Also worth noting is the Razer Built-in CNC cable management system, which the company has heaped praise on. It’s sad that it is so selective and will work with Razer cables only. Another shortcoming, the height adjustment is not enough for the tall guys though it helps to free access to the ports.
Other features the Raptor 27 boasts include USB-C power delivery, Razer Chroma™ with 16.8 million colors, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and two USB 3.0 ports.
Razer has not revealed when exactly the Razer Raptor 27 will be hitting the stores, but you can tell that it’s very soon. Already, the monitor is available for prepurchase on the Razer stores for $700, which is quite reasonable for such a high-performance gaming monitor.
