Yesterday, Taiwanese manufacturer MSI unleashed a new gaming monitor – the MSI MAG Optix G27C4. It boasts a sleek design as is the tradition with the company. When it comes to performance, it comes with all the features you require for competitive gaming and also, your comfort.
The MSI MAG Optix G27C4 boasts a 27-inch curved Samsung VA panel. The 1500R curvature offers an immersive gaming experience and a wide range of applications as well. On the other hand, the 178° wide view angle allows you to showcase your gaming exploits to those around you. With Wide Color Gamut, all colors and details come out as they are in the real world.
As a gamer, you may be aware that refresh rate and response time are critical. This new MSI gaming monitor can display Full HD 1080p resolution at impressive, 165Hz refresh rate. Together with the 1ms (MPRT) response time, you will always have the edge when playing games that require superfast and precise action.
Smooth visuals are also vital if you are playing games like fps and racing, among others. To eliminate screen tearing, stuttering, choppy frame rates, and motion blur, MSI incorporated AMD® Adaptive-Sync technology. For the best ultra-smooth and lag-free visuals, you definitely need to have an AMD® GPU. It is still not clear whether the Optix G27C4 will be NVIDIA G-Sync compatible.
The connectivity options are unlimited. The MSI MAG Optix G27C4 features one DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI 1.4. According to the released specs sheet, both can handle 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolutions up to 165Hz. There is also a single earphone out port, but there are no inbuilt speakers or USB passthrough.
The design is simple yet stylish. With a frameless design and ultra-thin bezels, you can focus on the content and utilize the entirety of the display. You can tilt the monitor -5° ~ 120°, but there are no height adjustments. Other design features include VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), and Kensington Lock for security.
The MSI MAG Optix G27C4 also tags along with several other features dedicated for gamers. The Anti-glare surface treatment, Anti-Flicker, and Less Blue Light all come in handy in reducing fatigue and eyestrain during those long and intense gaming sessions. It also features the Gaming OSD (on-screen display) app for easy monitor configuration using your keyboard/mouse instead of buttons.
At the time of writing, no release date for the MSI MAG Optix G27C4 has been confirmed. MSI has also remained lip tied regarding the pricing, but definitely, it will cost a fortune considering the top-notch performance.
