Marvel Rivals-In an ongoing argument, rival players are already fighting over which character is the easiest to handle in the game. One fan asking this question on Twitter has generated quite the buzz, albeit none has yet made it into “official” replies. But that hardly prohibits the discourse, considering cyberspace is a vast domain.
For those not in its know, Marvel Rivals is the most current superhero brawl in which noted Marvel characters partake in team-based combat with fast-paced action.
Think Overwatch with Spider-Man catching with webs and Iron Man blasting with repulsors. The game is still newer, so players are currently figuring out the metagame-Who’s OP, who’s trash, and who’s just…there.
So who could be the easiest counter? Well, with that question roaming through the forum, you will get different answers. Some would argue Doctor Strange because his spells take too long to cast and leave him so wide open.
Others would argue that Black Panther’s melee-heavy play style becomes predictable once you learn his patterns. Then, of course, there’s that camp that swears Hulk is just a big, slow target waiting to get kited.
The truth is, just because a character is easy to counter doesn’t mean they are weak. Certain characters have prominent weaknesses- yet still, a right-handed player can rule them. This is what makes Marvel Rivals enjoyable; it is not only about whom you choose but how you control them.
Funny that there aren’t any replies to the original tweet. Perhaps everyone is too busy actually playing the game to be arguing about it online. Or maybe the question hits right in their nerves-reacknowledged would acknowledge a player’s main is the easiest to shut down.
It remains to be seen one way or another. The debate feels nowhere near closing, as the meta changes with more players joining Marvel Rivals. The tier lists will shift, and that meta will shift again, and at some point, someone’s favorite will be put down as a “free win” by the community. Keeping this in mind, experiment, adapt, and most importantly, keep brawling.
And hey, if you think you got the answer to who is countered most easily, drop it right there in the comments! Just be ready to protect your opinion because Marvel fans don’t play nice defending their favorites.
What’s the judgment? For the time being, it’s up in the air. But one thing is certain: Marvel Rivals keep players guessing. And that gets straight to the point of what competitive games should be doing to realize their purpose.
Game on, heroes.
