There’s no denying that there has been quite a lot of built up hype when it comes to the Google Stadia that’s set to be released around November of 2019. For good reason too, the Google Stadia is a cloud-based gaming service operated by, you guessed it, Google.
It would seem that Google Stadia is ready to revolutionize the gaming industry by making any game that the user has purchased and loaded onto the cloud, available on any device that runs Google Chrome. This means that players will have the ability to enjoy their favorite games across multiple platforms instead of just one.
As time goes on since the initial announcement of the new gaming service, we seem to learn more and more about the Google Stadia. For one thing, Google does not seem to be worried about any data caps that users may face. Data caps are set in place by wireless carriers and internet service providers. It would seem that Google is confident these will not pose a problem with this new service.
Another interesting piece of information is that Google Stadia will actually not be starting out with any kind of beta testing version. The VP of Google and head of Stadia, Phil Harrison sat down for an interview with GamesRadar+ and confirmed that there is no time for beta testing, as well as not really having a need for it. “Geographically, the US is the most complex place to test; just because of the size of the country. And actually, Europe – and particularly the UK – are much… relatively, they are relatively easier to launch. So we are not going to do another test in the UK or Europe. If we had time we probably would have done so, but we don’t need to.”
If the no beta testing thing is something that deters you from using Google Stadia right at its launch. You may have to wait a couple of days or weeks until reviews begin to come out before deciding if you want to give it a try.
Google Stadia will have a free version available that lets users purchase games whenever they please. There is also the Stadia Founder’s Edition, currently available for pre-order which comes with three free months of Stadia Pro for you, as well as three free months of Stadia Pro for a friend with the Buddy Pass. The Founder’s Edition also includes a Stadia controller as well as a Google Chromecast Ultra.
