January 2020 is just around the corner, which means a new batch of games is coming to Xbox Games with Gold, free to download for anyone with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Remember that the two Xbox One titles are only available to Xbox One players, but the two Xbox 360 titles can be played by those with an Xbox One or an Xbox 360.

Before you start thinking about January’s upcoming titles, be sure to grab the games available right now. While the last day to download The Final Station and Toy Story 3 was December 15, Xbox One players can still grab Insane Robots and Jurassic World Evolution. All Xbox users can pick up Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD, which is available until the end of the month.

Players who love hiding in the shadows will have an extra special holiday season with the two Xbox One games on offer: Batman: The Telltale Series – The Complete Season One and Styx: Shards of Darkness.

While Batman is the better-known of the two sneaky predators, Styx is not someone to be trifled with. He may not be a “good” guy in any sense of the word, but he’s got heart. Styx: Shards of Darkness released to so-so reviews, and it’s not going to blow anyone away, but it’s certainly worth a go around. If nothing else, the experience is fun and the stealth mechanics are better than you would expect. The game will be available on January 1.

You’ll have to wait two additional weeks to grab Telltale’s Batman, which makes it debut on the service on January 16. Everyone knows the caped crusader, as the dark knight has seen a handful of reinventions is just the last few years alone. And anyone who’s played a Telltale game knows that they generally knock it out of the park when it comes to storytelling.

While Batman: The Telltale Series might be one of their highest-rated games, it’s still well worth the time for fans of Batman, if only to see Telltale’s take on some of his more underrated rogues. Everyone knows and loves villains like The Joker and Mr. Freeze, but where’s the love for Victor Zsasz, Arnold Wesker, and Blockbuster?

Along with those two Xbox One titles, Tekken 6 and Lego Star Wars 2 for the Xbox 360 will also be available for download, beginning January 1 and 16, respectively. While Tekken 6 is a phenomenal title, gamers riding that Rise of Skywalker hype will probably flock to Lego Star Wars 2.
