Just because the Arena World Championship is over for the year doesn’t mean competitive World of Warcraft esports events are.

GCDTV, an esports tournament host from Battlefy, is introducing a new PvP tournament to the fray.

GCDTV announced their Winter Brawl Series via tweet:

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth gamers can assemble a three-person party and register for the Winter Brawl Series on GCDTV’s Battlefy address.

They are advertising two tournaments in the Tweet, the GCDTV 3v3 Winter Brawl (EU), and the GCDTV 3v3 Winter Brawl (NA).

The European series will be played out on December 7th and 8th, and the North American series takes place a week later, December 14th and 15th.

Pre-made teams can register from now until the morning of December 2nd for EU and December 9th for NA.

Both tournaments will be held on the Tournament Realm, and players will be flagged for the realm within two days of play.

The Wednesday before the event (December 4th at 6 pm CEST, and 11th 7 pm PST, respectively), GCDTV will determine the tournament bracket depending on the teams that register. “Teams will be seeded into the bracket based on the average of the three highest 3v3 Arena rated players. (Based on the Character names/servers provided when signing up.)”

If there are more than eight teams that have registered for the series, battles will commence when the bracket is released. That will be on the Friday, a day before the official event starts, at 1 pm PST for NA (EU time hasn’t been announced.) Gamers are told to wait until an admin asks them to start, as the match may or may not be streamed on Twitch.

The top eight teams will emerge out of these qualifying matches, and they will compete during their region’s Winter Brawl Series. Each event will be streamed on Twitch. EU will take place at 6 pm CEST and NA at 1 pm PST, both Saturday and Sunday.

If there are only eight teams that sign up for the tournament, then there won’t be any Friday matches, just Saturday and Sunday.

If teams want to compete in the Winter Brawl Series, every player needs to be available during all the time slots.

The prize pool is a guaranteed $2000 USD, with the chance of it increasing. First place will take home seventy percent of the pot, and second place will earn thirty percent.
