Bethesda has updated its Fallout 76 “Inside the Vault” blog with information regarding a new underground area and event.
The blog post covers the new location called the “Watoga Underground.”
The description for the new region states: “Watoga, The City of the Future, envisions a bustling, walkable metropolis where the streets are clear of illegally parked automobiles, traffic and hit-and-run accidents. The city is built on top of a massive series of automated parking garage systems which allow citizens to drop off their cars and store them until they’re needed again. The dozens of silos can store cars safe and secure, out of sight and out of mind!”
From the screenshots, several run-down cars decorate the new location. Since they were abandoned, the vehicles aren’t serviceable. Players shouldn’t get their hopes up of repairing one of these old cars and driving it around.
The Underground also offers multiple services. The waiting area contains haircutting services, dining, relaxation, and a pharmacy.
The new location will contain new quests and other small story details for players to learn more about pre-apocalyptic Appalachia.
Besides giving players insight into the new location, Bethesda announced an upcoming event. The next Double XP event will take place from January 9 at noon ET until January 13 at noon ET. Players don’t have to do any extra work to enjoy the event. They simply have to start playing for Double XP to be activated.
There are even more bonuses in store for players this week. Until January 7, players have the chance to grab The Nukashine Party Poster, Sheepsquatch Ate My Brother Poster, and Pioneer Scouts Poster from the Atomic Shop for free. From there, the posters can be placed in the player’s camp. Viewing the posters will start new quests.
Unfortunately, the hazardous PC bug has still not been resolved. This issue allowed devious players to use an exploit to rob players located near them. The players could take everything from the victim’s inventory, including the clothes and armor, right off their backs.
Bethesda stated that players affected by the exploit could contact them to resolve the issue. Gamers will need the time, date, approximate location, and any other helpful details to help them get their items back.
Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
