It’s Tuesday again, which means that the world bosses in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth are cycling through once more! As the weekly reset hits, the world bosses in each region switch to another and come up once more.
This week has a good set of world bosses, and though many of them drop outdated gear at this point, it shouldn’t stop you from going after them. Many of them still drop useful items, whether for transmog or collections purposes.
One of the bosses this week, Dunegorger Kraulok, is an especially useful boss when they cycle up. Dunegorger Kraulok has a rare chance to drop a unique mount that can only be obtained from killing the boss itself.
Dunegorger Kraulok has a low chance of dropping a Slightly Damp Pile of Fur. Despite the somewhat unsettling name, the item actually gives players an alpaca mount, fitting the theme of the native Vulpera of Vol’dun.
This mount was only recently added with the 8.3 patch, likely so that Blizzard could continue to encourage players to complete the now-dated content of the earlier days of the expansion. With the mount droppable, players once again have a reason to go after the old world bosses.
Other than the mount, players won’t find much useful from the boss at the moment, as he’s part of outdated content. The gear that he drops is considerably too low to be of much use to players, so grabbing endgame gear off of him is no longer a factor.
Of course, the items that he drops might still be useful for a transmogrification perspective if you’re the sort of player that puts fashion at the top of your priority list! Check through the adventure guide to see everything Dunegorger Kraulok drops to see if its worth your while.
If you decide to go after the boss and aren’t lucky enough to grab a fistful of damp fur for your mount – which, unfortunately, is very likely – then there are other alpaca mounts that you might be able to get!
In Vol’dun, the same zone that Kraulok spawns, you may sometimes find a rare spawn called the Elusive Quickhoof. Feeding this mount the item Seaside Leafy Greens Mix can cause the spawn to give you the Reins of the Elusive Quickhoof!
Second, you may have some luck going after the hidden Alpaca It Up daily quest, which takes about a week to finish. At the end, you’ll have a sand-colored alpaca with the Reins of the Springfur Alpaca.
