Ys: Memories of Celceta was previously released on other systems. The PS Vita version launched in November 2013, followed by the PC release in July 2018. The game was released digitally but also with a special physical collector’s edition with a few bonus items.

In the game, the word-famous red-haired adventurer Adol Christin awakens in Celceta with only memories of his name. Adol wants to know about how he ended up in Celceta and his past. Adol and his new-to-him friend Duren, a thief, decide to journey across the wilderness to find out what happened. Along the way, Adol and Duren meet other friends who know who he is, but not all of them can be trusted.

The PlayStation 4 remaster supports 60 FPS with full HD visuals and controls optimized for gamepads. The game also includes the original Japanese voices, which were added to the PC release of the game two years ago. Players can choose from Japanese or English audio.

In Ys: Memories of Celceta, players will explore the land of Celceta, which is one of the largest areas in the series. The map system helps players navigate the giant new landspace. Combat is similar to previous games in the series, including the multi-character party system. Boss Rush mode has also returned, which makes Adol fight alone or with his friends well after the main story is complete.

XSEED is now offering a special edition of the game entitled the Ys: Memories of Celceta – Day 1 “Timeless Adventurer” Edition. It’s packaged with a physical copy of the game, the soundtrack on CD with 14 older and rearranged songs, plus 12 5″x7″ art cards with illustrations of various heroines from the series inside a box. This edition is perfect for any fan of the series. The special edition can be ordered from the XSEED website.

The PlayStation 4 version of Ys: Memories of Celceta is considered the “definitive version” of the game.
