Cyberpunk 2077, which was just recently delayed until the fall, will have a ton of content that’s not directly related to its main narrative, as the game will feature around 75 side quests which are being called Street Stories. Of course, the game will also have regular side quests, as the ones that are dubbed Street Stories will be shorter and smaller than traditional side quests.

During a recent interview with OnMSFT, John Mamais, who is one of CD Projekt Red’s producers, broke down what the Street Stories will entail, saying that their purpose is to help players explore all of what Cyberpunk 2077 and Night City has to offer.

“The Street Stories are like little quests,” said the CD Projekt Red producer while speaking wth OnMSFT. “There’s story but there’s not, like, advanced cinematic storytelling sequences so much. They’re a way to explore the world and level up your character.”

Mamais also said that each of the roughly 75 Street Stories will be customized to make them feel unique. Of course, these side stories won’t be mandatory, as players will be able to stick to the main narrative should they choose to. But, if you’re looking to see all of what Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, then, like in other open-world games, players will need to complete every quest that’s made available to them.

CD Projekt Red’s newest IP was originally supposed to be released for the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 in the spring, but the developers felt like they needed more time to polish their follow-up to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

For those who don’t remember, while The Witcher 3 is largely considered to be the best open-world game of the current generation, it had a pretty rough launch, as the day one version of the game was filled with bugs and glitches. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red wasted no time in addressing them, as they patched up nearly every issue the game had at launch.

They likely want to avoid the same issues that somewhat plagued The Witcher 3 upon its release, which is why they decided to take more time to polish Cyberpunk 2077.

Thankfully, it seems like the Poland-based video game developer is confident in Cyberpunk 2077’s new release date, as they’ve claimed that the game won’t get delayed again. So, as of right now, CD Projekt Red’s newest IP is scheduled to be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 17.
