Players will now have more time with the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta, as Treyarch has announced that it has been extended until October 20. Following the announcement, the devs also rolled out an update for the game’s beta, which added 6v6 Control to quickplay and increased the level cap.
Advertisement“Today, we’ve unlocked all attachments for every weapon to help everyone test out a wider variety of loadouts for the remainder of the Beta,” said Treyarch in a recent update. “And 2XP continues for all players so everyone can rank up twice as fast unlock more weapons. Get out there and build your perfect loadout for every situation.”

In addition, Treyarch also added the following gameplay updates.
- Reduced the chances that players will join a match already in progress.
- Reduced the spawn frequency of the Hind.
- Reduced the drop rates of War Machine and Attack Helicopter Scorestreaks.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when players joined a Fireteam: Dirty Bomb match and were assigned an invalid team.
- Fixed a crash that could occur in Fireteam: Dirty Bomb if a player disconnected while depositing Uranium.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when killing other players while in a vehicle that was just destroyed.
- Fixed an issue where the Gunsmith button could be missing after selecting a new weapon.
Earlier this week, it was discovered that some PC users are using an aimbot to gun down multiple enemies within a matter of seconds, which has led to console users disabling crossplay in order to avoid the cheaters on the other platforms.
“Turning off cross play,” said redditor RoKeOps. “I rather wait long for a lobby than deal with those hacker assclowns who couldn’t cut in a real match without hacking.”
As of this writing, Treyarch hasn’t addressed anything regarding the PC cheaters, but hopefully, they’ll clean things up before the game launches on current-gen consoles next month.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13, and as of right now, a release date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions hasn’t been announced.
