Publisher Activision and Developer Beenox decided to reveal not just one, but two new game characters for Crash Team Racing. And what better way to introduce these two new characters than by releasing a character trailer.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled is the remake of 1999’s Crash Team Racing. More specifically, both Beenox and Activision revealed that these new characters will be for Nitro Oxide and Fake Crash.

They shared the happy news via Crash Bandicoot’s official Twitter page. Upon looking at these new characters, avid fans shared that the difference between the original and the new is stark. This only goes to show how much effort has been made to do justice to the original version.

As known to most fans, the new trailers are not the very first trailers released by Activision and Beenox.

As a matter of fact, the paid had already successfully released four character trailers. The first one was for Crash Bandicoot, and the other three were for Coco Bandicoot, Ripper Roo, and Polar.

Based on the Twitter page of Crash Bandicoot, it would seem like they’ll be releasing trailers for each game racer. For those who want to see every single game character, it’s best to check their page now and then.

As early as now, avid fans are commenting that Crash Team Racing looks like it’s going to be a friendship-destroyer. Though it’s not overly nostalgic, it’s been a great tribute to its predecessor. And with the game’s graphical overhaul, it’s not very reminiscent of the original PS1 game origin.

And talking about a graphical overhaul, Stephane Gravel, the project director, shared how his team went on remaking this PS1 classic.

He said that it all started with a constant replay of the original game. He also shared in the PlayStation Blog that he played Crash Team Racing a lot. He did that to take notes, while also finding opportunities for improvement.

And since it has been 20 years since the game was first released, things most certainly evolved a lot. Grave also said that for people on his team, the process of remaking this classic was very nostalgic.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled is set for release this coming June 21. It will be available for $49.99 on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.

Though fans have to wait for a few more months, one thing holds true–it’s definitely worth the wait.
