A new update brings the RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7(N400) and tons of new content to Gran Turismo Sport in Patch 1.50. This patch has been available since November 27 at 8:00 P.M. PST. New cars and a new challenge always bring the fastest players to the race, wanting to prove themselves and win the gold at the finish line.

The main headline challenge is the lap times of Lewis Hamilton. In a new paid DLC, a single-player game mode has been introduced where players must beat lap times set by the “Maestro of Gran Turismo Sport” and real-life six-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton. He has personally set these lap records for players to compete against in hopes of becoming the next-fastest racer.

This is much more than a simple driving challenge. Driving replays of Lewis Hamilton and video tutorials by Lewis are included allowing you to take on the challenges with his guidance. This is a great way to not only push to be better but improve your skills with training from the Maestro himself.

There are ten challenges in the DLC pack all using the ‘Mercedes-AMG GT3’ and the ‘Sauber Mercedes C9.’ On each of these challenges, you can race against a ghost car of Lewis and get access to his braking points and throttle options on the go as you speed across the track. If you lose sight of him, no worries, the game can reset the ghost position to near the player, and you can race against him sector by sector.

You are not only racing against the champion but also on a leaderboard against players from all over the world. Check your speed against your friends and prove you are the fastest racer in your area.

If you manage to set lap times with Bronze or better results, you can get in-game credits. If you manage the achieve Gold in the challenges, the game will unlock the Game Credit limit from 20million to 100 million credits.

This Lewis Hamilton Challenge DLC pack is available in the PlayStation 4 store as of November 28. It includes various cars awarded for clearing the event as well as an unlock for the game credit limit. You can purchase the DLC pack for $7.99 and challenge the lap times of a true World Champion.

Outside of the paid content, players can now get access to the following cars for free as part of the update:

  • RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7 (N400)
  • Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupe 20 (Gr.X)
  • RUF CTR3 ’07 (N700)
  • Toyota 86 GT “Limited” ’16 (N200)
