Marvel‘s Avengers has come out on PlayStation 4, PC, Stadia, and Xbox One. Reviews are mixed to say the least.
While the game tells a reasonably strong super hero story, it was plagued with a huge number of bugs and issues that led to a wealth of issues for players.
Crystal Dynamics launched a new update today, in an attempt to clean the game up and fix some of these glaring issues that have been tanking user reviews. There were apparently a lot of issues to fix, with Crystal Dynamic making the claim that this update addresses more than 1,000 problems with the game.
Of course, some of these are relatively small, but others are massive game breaking glitches.
The update is entitled 1.3.0 and it is the first major update since the game released earlier this month. Right now, the developer seems to be focusing on the game’s bug infestation, and it will tackle some lager “quality of life” changes later on down the line.
Instability has been a major issue with Marvel’s The Avengers, which has resulted in numerous major crashes. This issue seems to be especially prevalent for PC players, but consoles have been impacted as well.
Some of the issues that have been resolved include:
- An issue where A-Day would not progress should the player start a campaign from the War Table after selecting Avengers Initiative.
- Bad save states causing players to be unable to progress in the campaign thanks to an infinite loading screen.
- An issue was fixed where the player would be teleported when attacking a boss between fight phases in the mission “The Stand Alone.”
- A problem where enemies could be stuck behind a closed door during the mission “Task at Hand” was fixed
- During the mission “Interrogation Anxiety an issue that prevented completion has been resolved.
There are also a number of fixes made to the multiplayer functionality of the game, the art and animation, the user interface, combat, and more.
There were also issues addressed for specific consoles and platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Stadia.
Marvel’s Avengers tells the tale of the Avengers after a massive disaster causes the super team to disband. As Kamala Khan, the soon-to-be Ms. Marvel, you embark on a mission to bring the team back together in order to combat AIM and its leader MODOK.
The game will be receiving new heroes and story missions in the form of DLC, including Hawkeye in the coming months. Spider-Man will also be a DLC character sometime next year, but this will be exclusive to PlayStation users.
