Age of Empires: Definitive Edition was released in the market February 19th of last year. It is a good remake of the original title with its improved visuals and the nostalgic overall system and gameplay.

Without a doubt, this game is a definitive version of Age of Empires. But this isn’t the title which makes people feel ecstatic when they take a trip down memory lane.

Sure, this is the title which started the whole game, but its sequel is the one which people remember. And with the sequel getting its own definitive edition, it looks like the original will once again be overshadowed.

News about a definitive edition for Age of Empires 2 & 3 for Windows 10 was revealed two years ago. This happened during the live stream for Age of Empires where the showcased the definitive edition of the first title. But no information about this was heard since then.

A new listing, however, has surfaced from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). And it’s none other than Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition.

With the publication of this listing, it seems as if the much-awaited revival of the sequel is arriving soon. If the remake gets released this year, it would just be in time for Age of Empires 2’s 20th anniversary.

As per the description on ESRB, this upcoming game is rated T. The reason for this is that Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition contains violence, mild language, as well as mild blood.

The summary states that players would be able to hear the insulting word, “bastard,” in the game. They would also be allowed to zoom in on their military units while they are fighting enemies and destroying structures.

Players would be able to see the cannons, bows, and swords clearly. This would also be accompanied by their enemies’ cries of pain, weapon clashes, and explosions.

There are also a few battlefields that show soldiers impaled on spikes. Several cutscenes show soldiers that are impaled by arrows. There’s a still-image sequence that displays a huge bloodstain on the ground as well as a blood splatter on parchment.

Some exciting news about Age of Empires was initially promised to be revealed in last months’ Inside Xbox installment. But no mention of the game was heard as last month’s stream passed.
