A new patch was recently released for RPG fighting game Dragon Ball Z Kakarot.
The patch, entitled 1.20 is currently available for all platforms. The size of the update on the PlayStation 4 version is 860 MB.
Games periodically add patches in order to fix ongoing bug issues, tighten up the experience, and sometimes even add new content.
Patch 1.20 added or adjusted in five different areas.
First, the developers over at Bandai Namco added some data for Tao Pai Pai’s pillar (known in the English Dub as Mercenary Tao).
They also added a random playback feature that can be attributed to BGM tracks.
Additionally, information about additional content that is available has been added to the game’s title screen in order to make accessing new DLC easier for gamers.
The animation was adjusted for Goku’s Super Attack, Dragon Fist. This is a special finishing move wherein Goku transforms into a golden dragon and flies through his opponent. It is seen by many to be the most powerful move in Goku’s arsenal, so updates to this particular skill to make it more epic are very much appreciated.
The developers also made a number of other smaller adjustments, all of which contribute to the overall gameplay mechanics.
Patches are a pretty regular part of the game development process. Whereas once you just got a game and that was it, the introduction of the online world to the gaming industry made it so that developers could continue to work on their title even long after the game has been released.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot got a major update recently with the addition of its first DLC. We were treated to new characters Whis and Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction for Universe 7. We were also given the ultra powerful red haired Super Saiyan God transformation for both Goku and Vegeta.
Another DLC expansion is expected to drop later this year.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is a truly unique game that tells the story of Dragon Ball Z in a way that has never been done before. You have an open world explorable environment to fly around in, recreating major events from the series through a fighting game system that plays a lot like the old Budokai Tenkaichi games.
You’re also able to take part in several side missions that expand on the lore established in both the manga books and the anime series.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is now available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC vis Steam.
