When you think about the Destiny franchise, food and cooking are not typically the first things that would come to mind. Despite this, Bungie has been hard at work developing a cookbook inspired by the series. The book is currently available on Bungie’s website for preorder.
The book is being written by Victoria Rosenthal, who is the curator of the blog Pixelated Provisions. Since the blog’s humble beginnings in 2012, Rosenthal has been recreating various video game consumables and providing recipes for fans across the globe.
This is not the first such cookbook Rosenthal has created either, as she also authored the “Fallout: The Vault Dweller’s Official Cookbook,” that released in 2018. It will be interesting to see what she will come up with, however, as there is seemingly much more in-game food to work from in the Fallout series compared to the Destiny series.
I can't wait for you all to start seeing the recipes in the Destiny Cookbook. I'm extremely proud of what I came up with! For those concerned the Colonel is very safe. She actually gave me some tips while coming up with a few of the recipes.https://t.co/tnlUJkje66#Destiny2 pic.twitter.com/HsKc4UXgHr

The official description for the product on the Bungie website reads,” Perfect for all Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks, Destiny: The Official Cookbook is packed with amazing recipes and stories that celebrate the worlds and characters of Destiny.”
The description also playfully states that it was the “unofficial grandaunt of all Guardians” Eva Levante who has compiled the recipes included from across the galaxy. The recipes come alongside full-color illustrations and step-by-step instructions for fans of the series.
The cookbook is also apparently the product of a partnership with Insight Editions publishing company. This is a natural choice, as the company has several related titles on record, everything from a Star Wars-inspired cookbook to a guide to the costumes seen on Game of Thrones.
As for what kind of products will be featured in the official cookbook, that is anyone’s guess. It is already been teased that some rendition of Cayde’s Spicy Ramen will be included so fans have at least that to look forward to. Some other confirmed featured foods are “Gjallardoodle cookies, “Reveler’s Tonic”, and “Wavesplitter” drinks.
Aside from this, almost no food has been featured in-game, so it’s likely the recipes will be more thematic rather than recreations of foods from within the games. This is further backed by a piece of the product description that reads, “This official cookbook is filled with recipes inspired by the characters and locations seen throughout Destiny’s expansive universe.”
The estimated shipping window for the product is currently scheduled for August of 2020. It is also priced at $34.99. The book will be a hardback edition, with a currently unlisted number of pages or recipes.
