Motion Twin has announced its title Dead Cells is headed to Android devices this June. Dead Cells was previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS but was missing on Android.
Playdigious will also include content released after the game launched on other platforms, but the release schedule is not yet known.
Dead Cells takes inspiration from other roguelike and Metrovania games: “Play as a failed alchemic experiment and explore the sprawling, ever-changing castle to find out what happened on this gloomy island…! That is, assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers. Dead Cells is a roguevania action platformer that will require you to master frantic 2D combat with a wide variety of weapons and skills against merciless minions and boss.” states the game summary.
Dead Cells was previously released on iOS, so the Android release was inevitable since the game was formatted for mobile screens.
The title has non-linear progression, so players can enjoy Dead Cells at their own pace. Players can rush to the end or take their time to explore every location.
The mobile version comes with the Original mode and Auto-Hit, plus custom controls and added touch controls. MFi external controller support was added for those who prefer not to touch their mobile screens.
Dead Cells is a premium game. After players purchase the game, it has no ads or other free-to-play mechanics found in other mobile titles.
Playdigious has teamed up with bilibili for the Chinese mobile release, which is available for pre-registration now.
Players can pre-register for the Android version now. They will be notified as as soon as the game is out plus an added bonus. Those who pre-register will get a 10% launch discount.
Pre-registering is easy. After logging into the Play Store, head to the game page and press the text to re-register. No other action is needed until the game is released in June, when players will be notified on when the game is available.
Players who want to experience the mobile version of the game now can play it on the App Store. The mobile version on iOS gives a similar experience of what to expect on Android.
Dead Cells arrives on Android devices on June 3.
