One of the most beloved games in the long-running Call of Duty series is Modern Warfare 2. It debuted back in 2009, and at the time, it was one of the most popular first-person shooters ever. It just had everything you want in this genre, from a diverse set of weapons, an approachable progression system, and addicting combat action.
It’s now 2020 and even still, many look back fondly on Modern Warfare 2. There have been rumors going around that a remastered version was in the works. It in fact is according to a conformation from Activision directly. It’s actually out right now for the PlayStation 4.
The PC version is coming out later in April, which is perfect if you want to have an optimal experience playing one of the most liked FPS ever. There are a lot of improvements that will be included in this remastered version. One of the most notable is 4K resolution support. So if you have a 4K television and are playing on an advanced console, you should have amazing visuals to check out like never before with this game.
Not only that, but the remastered version will have fine-tuned audio and revamped animations. It’s not like these were terrible back in 2009, but the developer wanted to keep up with the times. It should be noted that Activision will not be including multiplayer in this remastered version.
On paper, this makes a lot of sense. The developer is keen on pushing their most recent installment Modern Warfare as well as Warzone, the battle royale game that just hit the market and is smashing records in this space. These games will certainly keep Call of Duty fans entertained and satisfied with the multiplayer aspect.
Still, being able to go back through the single-player campaign and experience its memorable missions should make for a great experience. It should bring on quite a bit of nostalgia, taking you back to the simpler days of first-person shooters. And for those who haven’t had the chance to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, they’ll get to see what incredible action they missed. It really is a game that will go down in history and is a huge milestone for the Call of Duty franchise overall.
If you decide to pre-order this game, you’ll be treated to all sorts of goodies. Links are not yet available on PC, but they should be ready here pretty soon.
