The development team behind Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition are here with a special springtime event! We'll be celebrating the new season in style as we add in splashes of color and unique rewards with this celebration. \n \n"Welcome, one and all, to a very colorful day in Age!" they write in their announcement. "It's Springtime: when the warmth of sunshine and parting of the clouds fuels our excitement for the season's activities. Please join us as we celebrate the flower-blooming season with the Spring Celebration Event! From Today until April 14th, you can unlock a spring basket full of goodies in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition!" \n \n \n \nThere's no shortage of events to complete and rewards to earn. By completing the seasonal activities, you can unlock unique colorful portraits and customizability options. \n \nCompleting the in-game tasks while the event is active will include the following rewards: \n \n \tFour new profile icons \n \tA new mod to replace player colors with a saturated color palette during the event \n \tNew Spring Menu background while the event is active \n \tFive blooming mods to help add pops of color to your matches \n \nAll eight colors will be getting a saturated color palette if you have the mod active. Blue, red, green, yellow, teal, pink, black, and orange will all have a special appearance until the event ends on April 14th. \n \nTo activate all of these goodies, the following six tasks will need to be done: \n \n \tSign into Xbox Live to unlock the Spring Woad Raider and Spring Helmet profile icon \n \tResearch Hand Cart to unlock the lush Town Center Mod and the Spring Villager profile icon \n \tBuild a Trade Cart to unlock pink petal berry bushes and Spring Teuton Knight profile icon \n \tBuild at least five farms in one game to unlock the Lush Terrain Mod \n \tGather at least 2020 food in a single game to unlock Floral Explosions for petards and demolition ships \n \tReach at least 100 population to unlock a mod to replace all arrows with flowers \n \nObviously, these are pretty easy challenges, and you'll likely unlock every one of them in a single game. If you manage to win a game without getting at least 2020 food, that would be quite a feat, and building five farms will likely be done before you even get to the third age. \n \nIt's a good thing that you don't have to worry about getting a bunch of challenges completed to participate in this event, though. All of your mods will be unlocked by the time you finish up one game, more than likely, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the event before it ends in two weeks!
