Another exciting weekend of Call of Duty League competition is over, and the hometown heroes reigned supreme. The third official weekend of the league was hosted in Atlanta by the Atlanta FaZe. Eight teams participated in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare action, including Minnesota RØKKR, Paris Legion, London Royal Ravens, Florida Mutineers, Chicago Huntsmen, Toronto Ultra, Atlanta FaZe, and OpTic Gaming Los Angeles.

All in all, 13 different match-ups played out, and Atlanta FaZe was victorious.

Gameplay started on Saturday, February 22. In the first match-up, the Minnesota RØKKR defeated the Paris Legion 3-1. The London Royal Ravens were victorious 3-1 over the Florida Mutineers in the second match-up. The league leaders, Chicago Huntsmen, defeated Toronto Ultra 3-2 in the third match, and Atlanta FaZe dominated OpTic Gaming Los Angeles in the fourth, winning 3-0.

The fifth match of the day was another victory for the Chicago Huntsmen when they defeated the Minnesota RØKKR 3-1. Paris Legion picked up their first win in Atlanta when they handed Toronto Ultra their second straight loss in the sixth match-up. Atlanta FaZe performed for their hometown audience again by beating the Paris Legion 3-1 in the seventh match.

And in the Saturday’s final series, Florida Mutineers picked up a win against OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, going 3-1.

Sunday featured the best performing teams of the weekend, and five different series played out. The top two teams on Saturday, Atlanta FaZe and Chicago Huntsmen, each got a bye to the finals. That left four other teams to face off against each other to earn their spot in the finals.

The Minnesota RØKKR and Florida Mutineers battled their way into the finals by defeating the Paris Legion and London Royal Ravens, respectively. These two teams joined Atlanta and Chicago. The first final series featured Atlanta FaZe and Minnesota RØKKR, and after five hard-fought rounds, Atlanta FaZe was victorious.

The next series was an upset, with the Florida Mutineers defeating Chicago Huntsmen 3-2 and punching their ticket to the final series. But their momentum was quickly halted as Atlanta FaZe dominated them in the finals, winning 3-0 and becoming the champions of the weekend.

Chicago Huntsmen still leads the Call of Duty League with 90 CDL points, but Atlanta FaZe ascended the rankings this weekend and has clinched second place with 70 CDL Points. Paris Legion sits in third with 50 CDL Points, and there is a three-way tie for fourth, including Florida Mutineers, Minnesota RØKKR, and London Royal Ravens.

Dallas Empire is currently in seventh place with 30 CDL Points. Four teams are tied for eighth place with 10 CDL Points, including Los Angeles Guerrillas, New York Subliners, Seattle Surge, and Toronto Ultra. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles is in twelfth place with 0 CDL Points.
