A launch trailer was also put out on the official Devil May Cry YouTube channel to coincide with the release of the game on February 20.

The trailer is no longer than 30 seconds and doesn’t go into the game’s story whatsoever. Instead, it focuses on a slew of new features that have been added to the title for this Nintendo Switch release.

Chief among them is an all-new local co-op mode, in which you can team up with a friend to take on the game’s Bloody Palace. The clip in this trailer shows one player controlling Dante (the hero of the Devil May Cry franchise) and another playing as Dante’s brother Virgil, a frequent antagonist and main villain of this game.

Also added exclusively for the Nintendo Switch version is the ability to swap fighting styles mid battle. This is a feature that proved popular in Devil May Cry 4 and 5, but was not originally a part of this third installment. It has been added specifically for the special edition release, to the delight of many fans.

“I’m sure you have time for one more game,” Dante says to close the trailer out.

Devil May Cry 3 was originally released on the PlayStation 2 console. It is a prequel and, canonically; it is actually the first game in the Devil May Cry series. The in-canon Devil May Cry anime features some time periods that take place before Devil May Cry 3.

The game follows a younger version of Dante as he is about to open his as-of-yet unnamed devil hunting shop for business. He receives word that his brother Vergil has returned and is coming for him. Dante then embarks on an action-filled adventure, alongside the gun-toting Lady, to take down Vergil and save the world.

Of course, Vergil is not the only villain in this game. He is joined by Arkham, the father of Lady, who is featured in a stunning shot toward the end of this trailer.

Fans of the series remain hopeful that Dante could end up as a DLC character in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a part of the Fighters Pass Version 2, which will be adding another six combatants to the game’s already impressive roster.
