Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is the latest in a long and storied history of Dragon Ball games. It seeks to combine the elements of a traditional fighting game with those of an open-world RPG.

Players take on the role of Son Goku, the hero of Dragon Ball. They can then fly around the world, following story quests, engaging in side missions, and playing fun mini games like fishing. The game encompasses the entire Dragon Ball Z series, starting with the battle against the Saiyans, then moving over to the Planet Namek for the fight with Freeza, then heading back to Earth for the Android Saga, and finally ending with the struggle against Majin Buu.

In addition to Goku, players can control Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Trunks. Other characters like Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien are support characters who can provide aid in battle.

Bandai Namco has released a slew of trailers in anticipation of this release, most of which go through various characters and gameplay elements in order to better prepare players for what they’re about to experience.
