No matter what you celebrate, the holiday season is always a great excuse to give a few gifts out, and maybe receive a few in return. Game developers often follow suit, and Ubisoft wasn’t looking to be outdone this year.
Players that sign into the game during the holiday season will be rewarded with a surprise gift in keeping with the spirit. The tweet that announced this was rather cryptic, but a Reddit post by the mods of the Rainbow6 subreddit helped to explain better what you’ll be getting under your tree
For starters, you won’t have to sign in immediately (though the sooner you do, the sooner you get your gift!) Instead, players have until January 5th to claim their surprise.
And the surprise in question is something anyone would want for the holidays: A free Rainbow 6: Siege Operator! The free operator is random, so you won’t have a say in who you get, but there are restrictions on which one you’ll receive.
🎄 HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Rainbow Six Siege team!

First off, you won’t get unlucky and be gifted an operator that you already have. Only operators that you don’t own will be claimed for this deal. This is great because nothing is worse when you miss out on a surprise like this out of already progressing through that reward.
Second, the operators are from the first four years of the game’s content, meaning that you won’t get a base game operator. That helps show exactly which operators are on the for you. In order of release, the following operators are available for your gift:
- Buck
- Frost
- Blackbeard
- Valkyrie
- Capitão
- Caveira
- Hibana
- Echo
- Jackal
- Mira
- Ying
- Lesion
- Dokkaebi
- Vigil
- Zofia
- Lion
- Finka
- Maestro
- Alibi
- Maverick
- Clash
- Nomad
- Kaid
- Gridlock
- Mozzie
- Nøkk
- Warden
- Amaru
- Goyo
- Kali
- Wamai
That’s plenty of chances to get someone great. It’s excellent that even the newest operators, Kali and Wamai, are available. Oftentimes games will make the newest option more expensive or harder to obtain to encourage in-game purchases, such as Riot always making the newest champion more expensive in League of Legends (which most MOBAs do, to be fair).
But what if you already have all of the operators? Then there’s a special surprise for you: A festive and truly horrendous “Little Helper” Monty skin! The skin in question will turn Monty’s outfit a garish green and cover it with festive Christmas-themed decorations. It’s exclusive, free, and absolutely horrific from a fashion standpoint!
