When you think of awesome RPGs filled with fun gameplay, The Outer Worlds is the perfect shining example. It has gone on to achieve great commercial success thanks to the creativity and understanding of this space from Obsidian Entertainment. They really know how to make a good RPG, as is pretty clear with their beloved Fallout: New Vegas.

The Outer Worlds is just as fun, whether you’re exploring the beautifully detailed planets or finding ways to get into trouble as an explorer representing the Halcyon Colony. Sure, you could probably find a more in-depth RPG, but very few have the unique visuals and addicting gameplay like those featured in this game.

If you’ve already played through the main story, don’t worry. There is more content on the way in the form of DLC. Obsidian made this announcement after their positive reception at The Game Awards 2019. The new DLC will be available sometime next year. They didn’t go into any further details, but there are a lot of options on the table.

Most of the time when a developer comes out with a successful base game, they provide more of the same. So for The Outer Worlds, that could be additional missions to complete on various planets. These missions always reward interested participants with incredible gear.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see more characters added to the game as well. The character variety is a major aspect that gamers have loved since launch. There are just so many NPCs to talk to and share experiences with. It’s quite the contrast from Fallout 76, which unfortunately, has been through developmental turmoil for a very long time now.

It would also be great to see some themed content in this next DLC update. A lot of developers are starting to get in on the action. For example, it’s the month of December and there are a bunch of developers incorporating decorative content in some fashion. Obsidian could do the same. It would give players just another reason to return to an already amazing RPG.

If you have yet to experience this space explorative adventure, there’s still plenty of time to get caught up with everything before the next wave of DLC comes out. Hopefully, Obsidian doesn’t make this a one-off. Regular content would help The Outer Worlds do even better and perhaps reach a new audience. It really is one of those games that must be experienced firsthand.
