The Yakuza games aren’t all serious business. There are fun mini-games to take gamer’s minds off the intense story missions.
Sega has been releasing new information regarding the new game, which releases in Japan in the next few weeks.
A few characters have been confirmed to make an appearance in Yakuza: Like A Dragon. The series’ previous protagonist Kazuma Kiryu was spotted in a trailer, plus Goro Majima and Taiga Saejima would appear in the game. Their exact roles are not known.
One more character was announced to return: Nugget the Chicken.
Nugget the Chicken made its first appearance in Yakuza 0. Kiryu wins the chicken in a bowling tournament, choosing to leave it alive rather than frying it in the bowling alley’s kitchen. He quickly learns his new friend is skilled in real estate development.
Nugget’s stats list it as a Manager with three “Financial Savvy” stars, economic influence, and pays 300,000 yen.
The newest game will also have a form of business management. Nugget may assist the new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga in business matters.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a soft reboot of the Yakuza franchise. It stars a new protagonist in a new location for the first time.
Sega posted details of the game on their official YouTube channel: “Yakuza: Like a Dragon introduces a new main protagonist for the first time since the series’ inception over a decade ago — Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level yakuza member looking to prove his self-worth, and follows him and his motley crew of unlikely allies as they attempt to rise from rags to riches in this modern human drama.”
Sega recently revealed Ichiban’s new co-star, Eri Kamataki, who won a contest against almost 1,000 participants. She portrays Ichiban’s friend and runs a small company.
While players wait for the release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, they can play the older titles on the Xbox Game Pass in 2020. Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be released.
Gamers anxious for the new game can why Nugget is so beneficial by playing Yakuza 0 while it’s available on Xbox One. All three games are currently available on Steam and PlayStation 4.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is planned for a worldwide release for sometime in 2020. The official release date has not yet been revealed.
