Any time a game has a difficult nature, that naturally draws a lot of interest. Gamers want to test their skills to see if they can do what very few gamers have done with a difficult game before. Beating a difficult game also leads to immense satisfaction, especially if the effort required months of your time.
One of the more difficult games to come around in recent memory has to be Remnant: From the Ashes. This action role-playing third person shooter by Gunfire Games has angered a lot of gamers in terms of its difficulty ever since launching in August.
Part of the difficulty comes into play with the constantly changing worlds. You’re one of the last remnants left, and to save humanity from an evil entity that has taken over, you’ll have go through portals to discover clues to this evil’s ancient past. There are four worlds you’ll get to explore, but each time you go through a portal, there are new maps and enemy varieties to figure out.
Thus, you never really get a chance to find your groove. A lot of trial and error is involved, and it may take you multiple attempts to get down the game’s mechanics. Still, there are some gamers who have successful conquered the game and have gotten quite good at it.
For these gamers, a new hardcore mode is being added. That’s right. This incredibly difficulty game is about to get even harder for those who’re up for a nearly impossible challenge. If you have no prior experience playing Remnant: From the Ashes, this is probably not the mode for you. Even if you have experience, you’re probably going to die over and over.
The hard nature comes into play in that permadeath can be activated. This means you have just one life to get through the entire game. That concept in and of itself sounds like an impossibility, but there are always gamers up for the challenge. It’s going to take a lot of skill and some luck to make it past all that this game throws at you.
It seems Gunfire Games is looking to make this new hardcore mode worth it in the end, though. That’s because those who successfully complete the game in this new mode can earn six new rings. They can be used by any character you’ve created. Going to hell and back may just be worth these amazing rewards.
