Sony and Polyphony Digital are about to release an updated version of Gran Turismo Sport, as the Spec II update, which will span two discs, is currently scheduled to launch on October 4. Re-releasing a title is nothing new to the Gran Turismo series, as Polyphony Digital has done this numerous times in the past.

In addition to getting the base game, Gran Turismo Sport Spec II will include almost all of the DLC updates that the devs have rolled out since the game was released back in October of 2017. As previously mentioned, the game will span two discs, and the second disc will be an installation disc that features the aforementioned post-launch DLC updates.

On top of that, players who purchase GT Sport Spec II will also get the following bonus cars:

  • Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3
  • Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3
  • Lexus RC F GT3 (Emil Frey Racing)
  • Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG GT3 (AMG-Team HTP-Motorsport)
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.3
  • Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport
  • Porsche 911 RSR (991)
  • Renault Sport R.S.01 GT3
  • Subaru WRX Gr.3
  • Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3)

It was recently revealed that Gran Turismo Sport will be added to the PlayStation Hits lineup on October 4, which is, as previously mentioned, the same day that Spec II comes out.

Earlier in the week, Polyphony Digital rolled out patch 1.45 for Gran Turismo Sport, which will also be included in Spec II, and the full details are listed below.

  • Four New Cars: Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Racer Concept ’59 (Gr.X), Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Package ’18 (N700), Ferrari 365 GTB4 ’71 (N400), and Dodge Super Bee ’70 (N300).
  • Wet Conditions’ are now available for the Tokyo Expressway.
  • Beginner League: New rounds have been added to Stars and Stripes.
  • Amateur League: New rounds have been added to Group 3 Cup.
  • Professional League: New rounds have been added to La Festa Cavallino.
  • Endurance League: New round has been added to Gr.1 Prototype Endurance Series.

Since being released back in 2017, Polyphony Digital has added 103 new cars and 32 new tracks to the game. Like in other Gran Turismo releases, Sport has single-player components, but its primary focus is competitive online racing. There’s also a limited VR version of the game that’s available, and, as of right now, it’s unclear if the Spec II re-release will be compatible with the PSVR headset.
