It’s quite clear that both publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward are going all out with the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare soft relaunch, as they’ve already revealed a ton of new, refreshing features and modes that will be featured in the game.

On top of what’s already been revealed, Activision recently stated that the post-launch support for their upcoming Call of Duty title will be the largest in franchise history.

During their quarter 2 earnings call, Robert Kostich, who is Activision’s president of publishing, and Cody Johnson, who is the publisher’s chief operating officer, addressed some of the post-launch content concerns and confirmed that there will be no shortage of post-release content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

“We have a number of surprises in store (post-launch) including the largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history. We’re investing significant resources in post-launch content events and new ways to play that we think fans are going to really love.”

They didn’t clarify what the surprises were going to be during the conference call, which is obviously why they referred to them as surprises. As for what those could be, well, it’s hard to say. But, one thing’s for sure, which is that Infinity Ward and Activision are putting everything they have into making Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the most successful game in the history of the franchise.

So far, the developers have revealed a few new features in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, one of which is the ability to use vehicles. This is something that’s been in the Battlefield franchise for quite some time, but it’s something completely new for the Call of Duty series.

Infinity Ward also revealed a brand new game mode called Gunfight, which is a 2v2 multiplayer experience. This mode was originally supposed to be in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 as an online-based campaign mode, but it was scrapped pre-launch due to being unfinished. So, naturally, it was added to this year’s game.

Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare recently received an M rating. Of course, it’s been reported that the single-player campaign for the upcoming CoD game will be realistic and controversial.
