So, uh, taxpayers, looks like Battlefield 6 might have its own BR mode after all?? Everybody exploded in speculation following somebody’s cryptic statement reading “BATTLEFIELD 6 BR CONFIRMED?!” and providing a link shortly made private. Classic internet move, right? But the replies? Man, it is a potpourri of hype, saltiness, and utter madness.
Straight out of the gate, let’s break down the available knowledge, i.e., basics with nothing official. EA and DICE haven’t said a single word about a Battle Royale mode for the next Battlefield. Meanwhile, gamers have gone nuts, because, well, it’s 2023, and BR is still the belle of the shooting ball. Some got hyped with this guy called @1xTitan chiming in: “I’ve seen enough, I’m definitely buying this game 👏 especially since they’re developing a BR!” In contrast, @MarsResident027 feels like he’s about to riot, saying, “If this game has Battle Royal I’m 100% not buying it. What a damn shame. Battlefield as we once loved.. is over.” Soap opera level.
And they are throwing back to Firestorm. For all who forgot (or blocked it out), Battlefield V had a BattleRoyale mode called Firestorm, which kind of flopped. But weirdos-worth-a-dedication actually liked it. @Jaetwotimes3230 tweets “If it’s the same as Firestorm that’s huge! Loved that BR more than Warzone,” and @ReallceMan says, “BF 6 is 2042 slapped on with new maps, stuff, and backwards F16. Game developers are lame AF now,” Oof.
At this stage, the free-to-play is absolutely going bonkers. @lunaseleneblack hopes “they make the BR version free like Warzone!” which… yeah, that’d make sense. But then, @MicDubTV clapped back at the haters: “The BR will be free. You can easily play everything else that they showed today if a BR isn’t for you. Stop being dramatic 😂.” Dropping the mic shortly thereafter was @WierdKebab: “people saying ‘br destroyed gaming’ Just don’t play fucking BR???”, simple, sweet, and brutal.
Entertaining the internet, @StevenJamesMN comes in flexing stats: “If you need a carry from a bf legend. Lmk bro. All I do is quick scope and carry teams.” @TUBULARFOOL comes back with a burn: “How are you carrying with an avg of 1.76 kills per match? 🤣.” So, what’s the verdict? Until EA or DICE actually confirm anything, this is just noise. But if gamers are this divided, a BR in Battlefield 6 will be a thing. Whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing depends on who you ask. Some want it, some hate it, and some just wanna quick-scope to victory. Classic gaming discourse.
So bottom line, keep your ears open for anything official. That said, maybe just try to keep quiet about it. But then again, maybe you shouldn’t. It’s your life.
