An interesting Origin event in the world of Destiny 2 has been put into motion by Bungie: This week, in Portal activities, all Suros Guns will deal over-charged damage. So if you have a Suros gun trapped beneath some deep locks in your vault, now’s your chance to finally come out and melt some enemies.
Now this might raise a question: “What’s that Suros weapon?” For the uninitiated, Suros is one of the game’s weapon foundries, known for sleek, high-tech designs. Think auto-rifles, pulse-rifles, and hand-cannons of Suros aesthetic, to keep it simple. The tweet remained vague on the matter of which weapons specifically received the buff, and thus players have been theorizing about their preferred loadouts ever since.
Of course, not everybody was mature about it. The replies to the tweet were a collection of excitement, bewilderment, and some straight-up contempt. One player, by the handle @Joshswix, laid his thoughts bare: “none, suros is trash,” while @SweatyDoughnuts chimed in as well, admitting to not having used a Suros weapon in “actual years.” Ouch. Meanwhile, @Michael06379669 was still struggling to grasp what really qualified as a Suros weapon in the first place.
Others were really just concerned about… well, everything else. @VexTheRex used the opportunity to rant about error codes killing their weekly Kepler missions, while @GingerBear865 demanded that Bungie “hit the goddamn delete button” now and just give us Destiny 3. Harsh, but fair, I guess.
Then, there are more players wondering about The Case of the Missing Encore. A bunch of them, including @BR3AK3R566503 and @ScriptUrSuccess, are wondering where the hell it went. Did Bungie stealth-remove it? Will it be back soon? Nobody knows, and that silence is deafening.
And then the stereotypical Destiny-player pastime: loot complaints. @UndeadExo3 pleaded, “Please give us more loot in your looter shooter,” while @rockwellboyz97 accused Bungie of removing a farming technique just to “keep people down.” The struggle is real.
Amidst the chaos, some Guardians are now embracing the hype of Suros meta. @RollTideJT7 was elated that Exalted Truth (Suros HC) indeed got the buff and declared it will be cooking this week. Meanwhile, @gamedofficial_ said it simply: “I WILL USE MY OWN FISTSSS!” Respect.
So what does one say? If you are a Destiny 2 player, this Suros buff is either some form of entertainment for you or just another thing to be frowned at Bungie for. Either way, it’s stirring a bit of chatter in the community and giving them some time to maybe get up and dust off that old, turn-about Suros Regime sitting quietly in their vault.
Don’t expect unanimous praise for it; that would be too much to ask!
