FNATIC unleashed a funny tweet asking people “What kind of Kaajakval are you today?” And, I must say, the answers were truly great! The org posted a little meme with their Valorant player Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev, aka Kaajakval, showing all sorts of moods while the gaming community ran amok.
The original tweet had a grid showing Derke’s faces and poses from 1 through 9: Sleepy Derke, hype Derke, “I just whiffed my shots” Derke–all gamer moods were covered here, and we are all culprits of each!
The present Kaajakval status was quickly acknowledged by players. One of them, @seehux, admitted, “2/7 every day, 3 if I’m playing Valorant,” and honestly? Same. Relate-able was Mood 2 (sleepy Derke). @truebun said, “2 I just woke up its 1 pm” – that is a mood.
Mood 5 (smug frog emoji Derke) surely gained lights from the crowd also. “@winnievlr said, “I’m 5 🐸” to which FNATIC responded “good choice 🐸” – because who wouldn’t want to feel like a smug frog every once in a while? @mikusleeps, however, appeared to be embracing the duality of the gamer lifestyle: “5 & 9 🙏😋.”
Things did get quite interesting. @animacantaim opted for 4 and stated, “I want to kiss Boaster,” which is definitely an interesting choice! Meanwhile, @geomancylol came through with his own Kaajakval expression in a photo reply that FNATIC promised to “save for the next one” – creative contributions are always appreciated.
With number 7 (distressed Derke) there were many feels felt from within the community. @crashiesblohsh said “I am 7 everyday”, well, let’s face it, gaming is pain. FNATIC agreed seriously said: “that’s so real of you,” because sometimes, well, that’s life. @alamut97 felt seen from “8 speaks to me today”-We’ve all been there in ranked.
Some other orgs even took to the fun. @japaofc_esports put up a “9 for sure” while shouting out FNATIC’s performance at EWC: “you guys did great at the EWC, keep going 🇧🇷🧡” – wholesome esports moments!
The only critique came by way of @DoesMarcDoArt, whining “Where baldjak?” since apparently, the meme did miss a very important Derke iteration. Perhaps next time FNATIC will throw in that famous baldjak face.
What makes the whole interaction so epic is that it really captures gaming culture in totality. Crazy Days were those days when anyone would feel like number 2 (sleepy), number 7 (in pain), or number 5 (smug frog energy). It’s the odd few moments of relatability that make following esports so much worth it.
FNATIC themselves said they’re ‘2 and 7 rn’; honestly, same. Ever since the beginning, the org has been stellar at involving the community, and the risky engagement of this playful tweet was no exception. Hardcore FNATIC fans or anyone who loves a good gaming meme will revel in this brief snippet of esports Twitter at its finest.
So, in a way, these are all ways of just trying to figure out which Kaajakval we are at any given moment. Today? Definitely a 2 served with a side of 7. Tomorrow? Let’s see if we can muster up some 5 energy. Until then, we really need new FNATIC memes STAT, hopefully featuring baldjak to boot.
