Okay, gamers. The seat belt announcement: Call of Duty Black Ops 7 has made a surprise announcement—that the worldwide reveal will happen at the Opening Night Live of Gamescom. And yeah, it has to be massive. The countdown begins on Tuesday, 19th of August, streaming worldwide from 2 PM ET/11 AM PT/8 PM CEST. This means you, my friend, better have it in your calendar; put an alarm on it; and maybe stock on some energy drinks—you cannot afford to miss this one.
Now, the elephant in the room: How are players feeling about another Black Ops? Well, opinions are… mixed to say the least. There are the excited ones, like Joey Cats just dropping a “DLC 🔥” in the replies. On the other hand, disgruntled ones like Jhon Mcclain are replying with an, “Oh fuck off another black ops 🤦♂️.” And I wish I could say: it is pretty much what the whole COD community stands for—there are people that love or hate it, but to most, it cannot be ignored.
And then there’s the state of the franchise argument. Some players, like FleshWhistler.Monko.Algo, argued straight-up: “They’ve all sucked after 2.” Ouch. Others, like AdmiredAsp40584, are already predicting: “Next game is going to be probably shit MP whys anyways.” But hey, strong feelings pretty much run this fan base.
Moving on—an optimistic crowd is around. Blackopz$1908 is all in for it: “Let’s fuckin go🔥.” Diamondaxe202 is a little more straightforward: “just show me the snipers.” Priorities, willya?
And a COD reveal? With some of the… colorful criticism? Meeklmore refers to it as “a waste of steaming time, just another hogslop COD that will be overran by store bundles, AI crap, and hackers.” Meanwhile, Xme4ux was describing the cheats, saying the game is “rancid with cheating rats” and predicted that “Bf6 and gta will destroy this game.” However, competition at least keeps everyone on their toes.
Then we get into timed complaints. Hadi Pawar hit the tweet: “what the fuck are these guys doing,” classic, “I just bought the previous one” kind of complaint. This one’s hitting home for all of us. Not a second waits for the COD cycle of releases.
Call of Duty has always drawn people back in one way or another—whether you’re excited, skeptical, or just done with the franchise. The reveal is going to happen; the hype train’s leaving the station. Love them or hate them, you’ll probably end up watching. Because let’s face it—even your haters will be there to see what Treyarch has been cooking up.
So, what can we expect from Black Ops 7? Well, not very many details are coming our way right now; but, as always, history would have it a cinematic trailer, flash bang gameplay, and a few twists sprinkled on top. Does it stand up to the hype? That’s a question for the players to answer. However, one thing I can guarantee is that August 19 is going to be a hell of a day for COD…if not the whole COD fan tribe.
