The Zone turns a little less buggy, stalkers. GSC Game World has released Patch 1.1 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy — Enhanced Edition, with changes really needed among the radioactive wasteland. The update mainly targets save-loading issues and stability enhancements through fixes for many random bugs cropping up for players since launch.
Great news for all those wandering through anomalies and mutants in this enhanced edition of the classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles. Developers show the full patch notes to fans in a tweet, with promises of fixes to come. Yes indeed, more to come! GSC Game World is looking at polishing this trilogy to shine like a freshly looted artifact.
The reactions within the player responses have been somewhat mixed. Some players like AverageCasual were in support of the developers, stating, “Keep it up team. The update train keeps rolling.” Others asked for something specific with Sin begging, “Please please please!! Fix the weapon sway in Clear sky and Call of prypyat enhanced!” Then Donnie Blix disappointedly says: “Still cant get a stable 60 fps smfh.” What a cruel world.
The patch comes at a very strange time for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. Due to the delay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl until 2024 (thanks to the invasion of Ukraine, where the devs are based), this enhanced trilogy is both forcing nostalgia down the throats of the players and bringing new blood into the Zone before the launch of the next game.
In the meantime, one curious fan couldn’t resist putting forth the question, “Stalker 2 para ps5?????” in the replies. Sorry pal, but it’s still an Xbox/PC exclusive for right now. Then again, considering how Microsoft has been behaving recently, who can say what’s next for the game?
Patch notes conclude that it’s far from a minor patch update: in fact, they’re seeking to address major issues which have stood in the way of providing an ideal play experience. Save corruption problems? Sorted. Random crashes? Smoothed over. Gameplay bugs that were randomly turning the experience into a hard time in the Zone? Gone, gone, gone, like a bandit who picked the wrong fight.
One interesting observation is that the passion between the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. groups has kept on for so many years. The replies section sort of became a war zone for a while, with some users, namely The Angry Scotsman and MRRJ6549, clashing over… something. Honestly, it got hard to follow after a while, but strong feelings were undoubtedly thrown around.
If you haven’t set foot in the Zone yet, this enhanced trilogy packs Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat with visual upgrades and a ton of quality-of-life improvements. It’s just the right package to introduce one to the cult classics before the long-awaited sequel finally finishes that hellish development.
The announcement from the developers concluded with a simple “Thank you for staying with us,” followed by those iconic radioactive hazard symbols. Just a little something to show they get their audience. These games have always had a dedicated fan base, and it’s great to see GSC Game World continuing to support the community while working on the next installment.
So if you’ve been holding back taking another plunge into the Zone, better times are ahead. The water (or radioactive puddles, rather) looks a bit cleaner with this patch. Just avoid the bloodsuckers, though; they’ll never be fixed by any update.
And remember — don’t go wandering into the anomalies without protection. That’s just basic common sense, rookie.
