As the next significant step in the NieR franchise, NieR: Automata caused a commotion worldwide. Now, the game will be given a different spin on things, as it will be receiving its very own anime adaptation in the following year. The popularity of NieR: Automata is not something to be laughed off at, as it may have surpassed the original Drakengard franchise in terms of overall recognition.

As a direct result of this, Square Enix has been branching out Automata in some cool new ways, including several major video game crossovers for the title’s leads and other things. Now, the series will be adapted into an anime format.

NieR: Automata’s new animation, which will start production under the title NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, was revealed during the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event that took place this past weekend. The anime is presently scheduled to be released in January as part of the Winter 2023 anime schedule.

In spite of the fact that a more specific release date for the new series has not been disclosed as of the initial announcement, the first two posters for the series have been released. These posters provide a more in-depth look at the characters that will play the leads in the anime adaptation, 2B and 9S.

A-1 Pictures’ NieR: Automata Ver1.1a will have Ryouji Masayuma as the series director. Masayuma is also collaborating with Yoko Taro, the original game designer, to handle the series’ composition. The music will be composed by MONACA, and Jun Nakai will be in charge of character design and principal animation director duties.
