New information about the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was revealed by the legendary Tom Henderson.

According to the source, the devs will unveil the online for the upcoming shooter in September, roughly two weeks before beta testing begins.

Henderson notes that the studio has previously observed this trend. For example, early in September, the developer showed off the multiplayer features of the two prior Call of Duty games, Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

On October 28, the upcoming shooter is anticipated to be released. Try Hard Guides claims that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer functionality won’t be completely shown until an unspecified time around the beginning of September.

Online whispers have recently begun to spread and claim that the multiplayer feature may be fully revealed soon. However, it doesn’t appear like this is the case since Activision and Infinity Ward are predicted to keep quiet about the title throughout August.

Another claim that stated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 wouldn’t be hosting its multiplayer beta until September 15 at the earliest surfaced just a few weeks ago.

Up until September 26, this beta will then run at precise times across particular platforms. If both of these rumors are true, Activision will likely reveal all of MW2’s multiplayer features along with the beta test dates in the first few days of September.

The only thing we can say for sure right now is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28 this fall.

It will be playable on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC when it launches. Additionally, Henderson said he hadn’t received anything about an alpha, raising the likelihood that there won’t be one.

Take each of these leaks, though, with a grain of salt. Nothing is inevitable, and the situation is still very much up in the air until Activision or Infinity Ward gives a precise date.
