The third Adidas Originals x 100 Thieves collab is out, and in this unprecedented turn of events, the Internet is now screaming about it. Hype, tears (for the empty pockets), and begging to get into the PR list flooded Twitter. The drop is live already on adidas’ site, 100 Thieves’ shop, CONFIRMED, and some select shops; yet if you must get your stuff now, good luck as they will disappear from the shelves right away.
So, what exactly is inside this drop? Hoodies, tees, jackets, shoes-finally all the off-the-cuff clothing one would be flexing if they had the money. And judging from the responses, the stars of this drop are their zip-up hoodie (earning the term “elite” multiple times), the Red Rebel graphic tee, and those trail shoes some fans call criminally underrated. Oh, and the backpack? It held the crown for the shortest time: it sold out faster than a few unfortunate souls could even get back from their day jobs.
The reactions might be described as hype and broke simultaneously. A fan lamented, “What can I do to get on the PR list for this drop 😔, while another states, “Got me going broke with these fire drops lately.” And even within 100T, Sparkles_qt said, “SO GOOOD” referring to the shirt and hoodie, while CouRageJD gave it an endorsement of the hoodie.
Now if we talk about PRICE, however, that will be the real struggle. One said, “My bank account says no,” as multiple people answered in the comments, I want 20 pairs of the shoes to dress the whole family,” and another one said, “Someone buy it for my broke ass please.” Seriously.
Also came one about Ultraboost: “Do people actually buy other adidas shoes other than Ultraboost?” Which to be fair… But the trail shoes in this drop seem to have their own cult following, though some think the soles make them look like “kid shoes.”
The real lolz-worthy thing behind all of it is the antics: One fan tagged 100T’s Deston in a merciless begging for merch statement, to which Deston replied, “bro… we literally hang out just ask me.” The Adidas employee flaunting his smugness about snatching a handful can really do nothing to drown the sorrows of the rest.
One of the trip-ups for 100 Thieves is certainly the collab, again another W proving they could turn any drop into something so coveted. It might be really hard to decide if this one is something you genuinely want or not, but here’s the disclaimer: resell is going to be nasty. So really, snag something for yourself before it’s too late. Or don’t; your bank account will thank you.
The streets—and Twitter—are going to talk about this for a long while. Now excuse me while I cry some more over not bagging that backpack. Again.
