Twitch Streamer CaseyExplosion tweeted about Bloodborne, claiming that there was a leaked Steam page with detail of an upcoming PC port for FromSoftware’s PS4-exclusive souls-like action-RPG.

The details in the comments of the tweet were links to charities, organizations and foundations that are providing crucial support during the BlackLivesMatter protests. Over the next couple of hours, the tweet got thousands of likes, retweets and replies.

She had initially posted the tweet to gain attention for donations to charities and organizations helping out during the continued riots across the United States. The original tweet claims there is a leaked Steam listing for Bloodborne (this isn’t true.)

However, she later double-downed on her tweet, claiming she even knew which company was doing the port. The info came from a trusted source who had also made a sizable donation to a foundation.

Bloodborne is one of PS4’s classic highly-rated action-RPG games released way back in 2015. It’s often referred to as a Souls-like game, after games like Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls. It received the Game of the Year Award from several review sites.

So, despite the Twitter prank, will Bloodborne actually be arriving on PC? Well-known video affiliate marketer and source for all things video-game deal, Wario64, posted this pretty blatant tweet yesterday.

People are still sceptical, but the connection between the two tweets seems a little too obvious to ignore. Wario64 may well be the generous benefactor CaseyExplosion mentions and has been lead to drop the news more obviously because of the prank getting traction on the platform.

If this is the case, and Bloodborne really is coming to the PC, fans of From Software’s games and Souls-like games, in general, are in for a treat. Bloodborne historically doesn’t perform brilliantly on the PS4, with low frame rates and quite long loading screens.

A professional port from a trusted company might see huge performance boosts to the game, unlocking the gameplay from its 20fps shell and giving players a chance to experience it how it was meant to be played.

As the hype around this possible PC-port builds and build, it’s a good idea to remember how rumours spread fast on the internet. While this all started from a prank on Twitter, you should still probably be hopeful for a port to PC on its way soon!
