Xseed Games, which is a publishing brand of Marvelous USA has announced the release date of their upcoming game Kandagawa Jet Girls. The game was developed by the creators of the popular Senran Kagura series.
Kandagawa Jet Girls is headed to PC and PlayStation 4 just in time for summer. The game features an action-packed racing game that takes place on the water. Players can maneuver through tight corners and perform aerial stunts while participating in shootouts.
In the game, players will explore the waterways of Tokyo on high-speed jet machines. “Jetters,” or drivers of jet machines, pair up with a “Shooter” partner armed with water weapons as the Jetter races through the waterways, the Shooter blasts away the competition with high-powered water guns.
Players can choose seven two-girl teams to race with. Each team has a story that explains their personal motivations and hopes for the future. There are around 64 levels to playthrough. The story has two modes: single-player or online, where players can face off against other racers. Players can compete against up to three teams in casual or ranked matches.
The title contains several customization options. Players can customize their team’s appearance and machine, including special effects. The customization also allows players to fine-tune their jet machine depending on their racing style and to make their machine as powerful as possible. If playing online, players can craft a custom jet machine to stand out among the rest.
Kandagawa Jet Girls will be released both digitally and physically through the Xseed store. The special “Racing Hearts” edition is packaged with the PlayStation 4 base game, a 2-disc soundtrack CD, and Jet Girls 64-page full-color.
Ryobi and Ryona from the Senran Kagura series are included in the base game for the Western release. The first to join the premium DLC lineup is Asuka and Yumi, with more characters on the way.
Kandagawa Jet Girls is a multimedia project. The anime series aired on TNK from October 2019 to January 2020. The game was later launched in Japan in January 2020, but will now be available worldwide soon. Fans of the anime will recognize characters in the show in the game as well. The animated series focused on the bonds the teams formed, and how many of the racers became friends and not just rivals.
Kandagawa Jet Girls launches on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4 this Summer.
