Gamers will surely have a hard time winning in the World of Warcraft Classic than in the Battle for Azeroth. Therefore, they need to develop a strong bond with each other to surpass each challenge.

This has indeed been confirmed by two of Blizzard’s leading men who have been working on the game for more than 15 years already.

In an interview with a German website, the company’s lead software engineer Brian Birmingham and senior software engineer Omar Gonzalez shared some exciting details about the World of Warcraft Classic. They both compared it with the modern WoW.

While the interview was originally in German language, WoW Head was able to find a way to translate the entire discussion into English. The revelations have so many exciting tidbits that will probably make fans more curious about the return of the classic WoW.

According to Gonzalez, players can expect that the classic one will be “much rougher” because “more difficulties and friction” have been incorporated into its systems. However, he noted that he does not see any problem with this development. In fact, it can be considered as something that would make the gameplay even more challenging and fun.

Moreover, he pointed out that in the World of Warcraft Classic, the players are the ones who will look for their path in the world. And while doing that, they get to develop strong connections with the other players they meet along the way.

Birmingham further simplified this description of the game. He explained that while the modern one highlights how the players learn about the game world’s big story, the classic is about discovering the players’ own story.

With the return of the World of Warcraft Classic, Gonzalez and Birmingham are optimistic that it would appeal to both the new players and those who have tried playing it in the past.

To date, the team is working on the feedback and comments they gathered during the Blizzcon Demo.

On the other hand, Blizzard announced that it would have a live question and answer with the WoW fans on January 24, at 11:00 a.m. PST.

Game director Ion Hazzikostas will be answering questions from players who would like to know more about the game’s latest updates, especially those related to Season 2 and Tides of Vengeance. To join, questions can be submitted. Meanwhile, the discussion can be watched live.
