The strategic Marvel role-playing game, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, from XCOM creator Firaxis, has been postponed. It was originally scheduled to release on October 7, but that date has been postponed to a future time, perhaps as soon as 2023.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released at some point during Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal year 2023, which runs through the end of March 2023, according to the industry’s 1st accounting records.

Firaxis and 2K will be able to “guarantee we are providing the finest possible experience for our fans” as a result of the delay, according to Take-Two.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns have been postponed twice: In order to give Firaxis “additional time to develop this greatest game available,” with “additional story, cinematic sequences, and overall polish,” it was initially scheduled to release in March 2022. However, in late 2021, that date was pushed back to the second half of the year.

Tyler Wilde, the executive editor of PC Gamer, played Midnight Suns for a cover story in June. He was enthralled by the turn-based weapon system, noting that “it demonstrates in the performance of the strike visuals and the fun I had even during the instructional missions,” and he was both unimpressed and entertained by the narrative.

We’re pleasurably shocked and amazed with Marvel’s Mightnight Suns so far, and we can’t recall the last time our aspirations were so extensively undermined between what we thought the game was and what it actually is, according to Jordan Middler of VGC, who recently visited Firaxis to see Midnight Suns in action.

“The social components of the game are a real dark horse, and the battle confrontations are smart, difficult, and a lot of fun. What may really make Midnight Suns a classic are those calm intermissions, and based on what we’ve seen so far; it’s off to a great begin.
