Fans of Gotham Knights are being urged to avoid spoilers online for less than two weeks until the show’s premiere after a significant leak. A few of the game’s official art books seem to have arrived, and at least one player has started posting screenshots of the game’s purported conclusion on Reddit. Unfortunately, the comic book creator beat them up and has since expressed frustration on social media, at least in part.

Fleur Marty, the game’s executive producer at Warner Bros. Games Montreal, tweeted on October 7: “I can’t begin to fathom why somebody would spoil a tale  for others.” Uncovering the mystery at the heart of Gotham Knights’ story is touted in recent previews as another primary focus, in addition to co-op multiplayer and skill trees and treasure modeled after Diablo. In addition, the official art book appears to have arrived earlier than expected, so online spoilers are beginning to reveal some of those story elements.

The premise of Gotham Knights is that Batman has been assassinated in a terrorist attack, and his surrogate family—Nightwing, Jason Todd, Robin, and Batgirl—are entrusted with attempting to retake control of the city, which is currently under the influence of the Court of Owls.

The death of Bruce Wayne was hinted at and talked about in the trailers. At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, creative director Patrick Redding went even further and reiterated that story aspect, responding to a question from a fan by saying, “Yes, Batman is dead.

The apparent art book shows that’s only sometimes the case. Screenshots of two pages circulating show that Talia al Ghul uses the Lazarus Pit to resurrect Bruce at some time. What a shock, huh? Indeed, I am. The art book then describes what appears to be a boss battle with Batman in which the player must avoid unavoidable assaults and attempt to calm a hysterical cape crusader down using linguistic cues.
